Helping Patients Keep Their Natural Teeth and Feel Confident in Their Smiles
About Dr. Niki
Dr. Nicole “Niki” Carlson brings a thoughtful, gentle approach to dentistry with one goal always in mind: helping patients enjoy healthy, confident smiles while preserving their natural teeth whenever possible. A graduate of the University of Maryland at Baltimore School of Dentistry, she provides personalized preventive, restorative, and cosmetic dentistry for patients with a wide range of needs.
Inspired by her mother to become a dentist, Dr. Niki was drawn to a profession that combines science, artistry, and meaningful patient relationships. She enjoys everything from helping someone get out of pain to restoring damaged teeth and creating beautiful smile transformations. Her clinical interests include preventive and restorative dentistry, pediatric dentistry, prosthodontics, and exodontia.
Dr. Niki’s approach fits naturally with the practice’s commitment to holistic dentistry and conservative care. She values preserving healthy tooth structure, educating patients about their options, and creating treatment plans around the individual. For patients interested in changing their smile, she appreciates the balance between health, function, and natural-looking aesthetics found in a personalized smile makeover.
She is especially excited about advances in dental materials, research, and prevention that may help more patients avoid cavities, gum disease, and unnecessary tooth loss. As her career grows, Dr. Niki also looks forward to expanding her education in orthodontics and implant dentistry.
Whether you’re visiting for routine care, a tooth that needs attention, or a smile you’re ready to improve, Dr. Niki wants you to feel heard, informed, and comfortable with your care.
Healthy Smiles, Beautiful Results
For Dr. Niki, improving a smile is about more than making teeth look better. She considers health, function, comfort, and appearance together, with an emphasis on preserving natural tooth structure whenever possible.
Whether treatment involves restoring a damaged tooth or making cosmetic improvements, she appreciates the details that can make a result feel natural. Her goal is a smile that looks refreshed and balanced—not one that feels overdone or unlike you.
Getting to Know Dr. Niki
Dentistry runs a little deeper for Dr. Niki. Her mother inspired her to enter the profession, and she quickly found that it matched two sides of her personality: a love of science and creativity. Dentistry gives her the precision of healthcare with the artistry of working with her hands—and, most importantly, the opportunity to make a noticeable difference in someone’s day.
That might mean getting a patient out of pain, helping someone become more comfortable with dental care, or watching a patient see their new smile for the first time. Dr. Niki especially values building relationships with patients and helping them understand the “why” behind their treatment rather than simply telling them what they need.
Outside the office, she trades dental instruments for dumbbells, crochet hooks, and nail art. She enjoys weightlifting, Solidcore, Florida beach days, and spending time with family and friends. At home, there’s also Honey, her cat. And one detail you probably wouldn’t guess? Dr. Niki was naturally left-handed as a child and taught herself to become right-handed.
What Dr. Niki Loves About Dentistry
One reason Dr. Niki chose general dentistry is simple: no two patients—or days—are exactly alike. Her clinical interests span prevention, restorative care, pediatric dentistry, prosthodontics, and exodontia, allowing her to help patients through many different stages of their dental health.
Depending on your needs, your care with Dr. Niki may include:
- Preventive dentistry focused on maintaining healthy teeth and identifying concerns before they become bigger problems
- Restorative dentistry to repair damaged or compromised teeth while preserving healthy structure whenever possible
- Cosmetic dentistry for patients who want thoughtful, natural-looking improvements to their smiles
- Pediatric dental care with an emphasis on creating positive early experiences and healthy habits
- Prosthodontic care to restore the appearance and function of missing or significantly damaged teeth
- Exodontia when removing a tooth is determined to be the appropriate treatment
She is also continuing to grow her knowledge of implant dentistry and orthodontics. What excites her most is where dentistry is headed—from better restorative materials to new research and preventive products that may help patients experience fewer cavities, healthier gums, and keep more of their natural teeth throughout life.
